JAN 8th - MP BACKS NEW HASTINGS-BRIGHTON RAIL SERVICE

train southernIn his response to Southern’s consultation on the East Coast Way timetable changes Michael Foster has offered his support for bigger and more regular trains between Hastings and Brighton.

The Hastings Brighton route is notorious for overcrowding on peak services as the line is regularly served by two car diesel trains running from Ashford.

If the new proposals are agreed trains will all be electric, comprise four carriages and start from Hastings. Four of these trains will run from Hastings every hour during peak times.

Michael Foster MP said:

“For years now constituents have complained about how busy the Brighton train gets. I have been pushing Southern to do something about the poor service so I am pleased these new services will hugely increase capacity during peak times. I hope residents will now be able to enjoy a somewhat more comfortable journey.”
